Merry Christmas from EventAnne

Merry Christmas from EventAnne

Finally, it’s December. How time flies!

It has been a turbulent year…and I honestly hope that 2016 will be a little more calm, even though I already have several exciting things on my plate for the next year (which I’m very much looking forward to!).

But this blog is about events, and Christmas is one of two ultimate examples of the fact that even Mr. and Mrs. Smith are event planners (the other example is weddings but let us leave it at that). Because, if any holiday needs planning it is Christmas!

During the month of December, we practice our planning skills with the coordination of Christmas lunches, parties, and hanging out with friends and family over a cup of eggnog. And it all culminates with the event that activates all of our event coordination competences: Christmas!

And this is where all of your knowledge has to be unfolded in order to ensure that the turkey is ready when the sweet potato pie is, that the gifts are bought and wrapped in secrecy, that auntie Ann gets picked up in time, and that the house is decorated as beautiful as a page in the Martha Stewart Magazine.

But it all turns out well and everybody is having fun, eating good food, and unwrapping that special thing they always wished for. And the little things that doesn’t turn out exactly as we hoped, well we work around them…like we do in event planning.

So remember to have fun and enjoy the holidays so that they don’t disappear in to do lists, practical matters, and stress. Take your time to relax and be with family – after all, that’s what Christmas is all about.

This post is the last one on my blog in 2015. I look forward to new adventures in 2016 and to sharing my event experiences with you next year.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year – take care out there!
