The wheels on the bus go round and round

I was recently invited on a tour to Funen (a Danish Island) with the Sinatur Hotels and the speakers bureau One Decision.

It was an amazing day together with other meeting planners where we got to see the three Sinatur hotels located on Funen – Sinatur Storebælt, Sinatur Sixtus og Sinatur Gl. Avernæs – as well a experience some of One Decision’s fantastic speakers.

Sinatur Hotels is a small Danish chain of individual hotels. They are super cozy, care a great deal about food, and have received the accolade of the bronze level of the Danish “Badge of Organic Eating”, which is right up my alley :o)

Besides cozy hotels, delicious food, and inspiring presentations the day also involved a bit of transportation across Funen. Fortunately, both the Sinatur and One Decision people know their way around the business and that time spent on transportation doesn’t equal time wasted. So they have arranged a presentation as well as a chocolate tasting on board the bus.

And it is ideal to use the transportation time for facilitated networking or group assignments. As an example, you can give the participants a task to solve during the transportation or ask for input for an Open Space session at the next destination. And of course you can make a seating plan for a bus!

This way time spent on transportation won’t burden your event program but in stead add an experience to it. Sinatur and One Decision definitely managed to do that in a perfect way on the “Tour de Funen”.

Do you use transportation time wisely?
